18/01/05

SENET is a CSR cooperation of Finnish, Austrian and the Baltic energy experts and public organisations

SENET Project aims at fostering development of networks on the new EU borders in order to facilitate integration of the accession countries’ neighbouring regions in the common EU space and thus to foster social and economic cohesion and to ensure compliance with the EU legislation and standards in the field of energy saving and development of customer oriented services on the local level.

The objective is to adopt common strategies and action plans based on the Corporate Social Responsibility Concept (CSRC) and to promote rational use of energy as a base of CSRC. This will happen through the development of a cooperation model of municipal authorities and associations of employers & workers participating in social dialogue and thus by strengthening capacity and skills of local and regional stakeholders in the Baltic States.

SENET stimulates and facilitates collaboration and networking between authorities and associations to join international energy saving networks and harmonise energy saving programmes within the enlarged EU. Involved regions and cities in SENET are Uusimaa Region and City of Vantaa in Finland, Steierrmark Region and City of Graz in Austria, Riga Region and City of Ogre in Latvia, Kaunas Region in Lithuania and the whole Estonia.
