The Pilot Projects implemented in ESCOBALT

Three pilot projects in the field of the development of energy efficiency have been started in the three Baltic states taking part in ESCOBALT. The three pilots are:

• Assistance in national energy saving program in Latvia
• CSR application in a DH enterprise in Kaunas, Lithuania
• DH network rehabilitation in Vöru, Estonia.

   

The pilots have been implemented in a trans-national cooperation. Two Finnish energy consulting companies have been chosen to work for the pilots: Electrowatt-Ekono Ltd (Latvia ) and Enprima Ltd (Estonia and Lithuania ).

1. Estonia: Voru Soojus Social Responsibility Report

The report includes a recommendation on how Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reporting should be developed in energy companies. The recommendation follows the structure of guidelines published by the international organisation Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The guidelines are published as “Sustainability Reporting Guidelines on Economic, Environmental and Social Performance”. More information on GRI can be found at www.globalreporting.org.
