Introduction to the Energy Saving Projects of the Network

Energy Saving Network is a European partnership between many countries, regions, cities, associations and energy efficiency centres. All the projects have synergy due to promoting energy saving and - efficiency methods. Yet, they have different approaches and thus give added value to each other.  The projects introduced are:

  • ESCOBALT

ESCOBALT  aims at  adopting  common strategies and action plans based on the Corporate Social Responsibility Concept (CSRC) and to promote  rational use of energy. This will happen through the development of a cooperation of the partners and projects, building of networks, spreading information and discussing the problems and opportunities behind the energy sector and CSR. ESCOBALT is  financed by the  EU  Interreg III B – program and it has  partners from several Baltic Sea Region countries.

  • SENET

SENET  aims at fostering the development of networks on the new EU borders and to promote the EU legislation and standards in the field of energy saving and development of customer oriented services on the local level. The objective  is to adopt common strategies and action plans based on the Corporate Social Responsibility Concept (CSRC) and to promote  rational use of energy.

  • KEEPING WARMTH

The aim is to introduce strategy and methods of realisation of the European energy saving programs in the Murmansk region. The project priority is given to encourage municipal energy saving program in the housing sector. The main activities include realisation of a pilot energy audit project in the Murmansk region in compliance with the international standards. Also, the  local specialists will receive necessary knowledge and technologies to increase energy efficiency.

  • PHOENIX

Phoenix is a Finnish - Russian TACIS - project, aiming at  assistance to the regional authorities in the Russian Northwest cross-border areas in  developing municipal energy infrastructure.  This is done by attracting private and international capital to the area  through introduction of ESCO concept for energy efficient and energy saving technologies, where  utilising household and industrial waste are underlined. The project is implemented  in accordance with the EU environmental policy.
